A Child's Perspective...

Sunday we were, as usual, having lunch in the car on the way home from church. It was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with crackers on the side. We asked our 3 kids which one wanted to pray for the food. All three yelled, "me!". Before Nate or I could choose, Peter and Nienna started to pray. Both were thanking God for the food at the same time. Nienna was becoming irritated with Peter, but stubbornly kept praying. However, Peter paused and said, "Ah, God. Excuse me, God..."

He was trying to tell God that he needed to interrupt his sister's prayer. He wanted God to listen to him. Nate and I were trying so hard not to laugh. There was much joy in his desire to talk with God, the adorable way he spoke and the fact that our teaching on how to interrupt a conversation was remembered.
