Seeing hope again...

I think the last 3 days can be described, as my husband says, as a spiritual flu. It seems you are in a fog, you are slugging through a slough that is so thick sometimes you cannot move. Every thought and action is slow, nothing seems to be purposeful. Everything outside you is in ciaos - your house is a pig sty, your kids just tracked in gallons of mud, they are fighting constantly, your husband is busy and can't answer your phone calls, you vent all your frustrations at your hubby when he finally calls, you yell at your kids, the neighbors are fighting, everything seems hopeless, etc. etc.

Ever have a day like that??

Here comes the light... "O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me." (Psalm 139:1-5)

Guess what? God is still in that flu!

So my response (after repentance) is as David said, "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it."

Then the light returns and I can see and feel clearly. God is awesome and marvelous - too much for me to understand! But I am so glad he loves me and allows me to share in this goodness.
