There are 2 pictures of God that Nate always goes back to when life seems to be racing out of control and he feels overwhelmed. He reminded me of them last night and I want to share them with you.
1. God rides the clouds as a chariot. (there are countless places in Scripture that tell of God or Christ coming in a cloud.)
Have you looked at the clouds lately? The ones over the Twin Cities have been amazing these last few days. Those clouds are a picture of how strong God's power is. He can control and even ride them. Take comfort in a God like that!
2. God's army in the wind on the trees. (This is taken from 2 Chronicles 14:14-15:
Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, "You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.")
God's army went before Israel, riding the wind in the tree tops. Next time you see and hear the wind in the trees, be reminded that God's army moves like that. Also, remember, that army fights for you!
